NFC contact cards for MTN Ghana, proposed by Vaurse. Each card celebrates a place or tradition from Ghana. Tap the card to a phone, or scan its QR code, to open the holder’s profile and save their contact.
Generic cards · PVC, full colour
Six designs in MTN yellow. Each front carries the MTN mark, a place or tradition from Ghana with its name and the Ghana flag, and the holder’s name (from their account). The back carries the QR code (the fallback when a phone has no NFC), “Tap or scan to save my contact”, MTN’s “everywhere you go” and a short Ghanaian proverb. Two back colours are shown: black and yellow.

Metal · black steel
Everything is laser-engraved into the steel, with no ink: the MTN mark, the landmark, the flag, the name and, on the back, the QR code and the words. The engraved marks come out a lighter, frosted silver against the solid black. The engraved QR code is light on dark, which current phone cameras read; every batch is tested on several phones. NFC works through a metal card because the chip sits in a non-metal inlay at the back.

Wood · bamboo, engraved
The same designs burned into light bamboo by laser, with no ink: the drawing, the MTN mark, the flag, the name, and on the back the QR code and the words all come out as dark engraving against the pale wood.

Bespoke cards · a company’s own design
For corporate orders. The front is the company’s brand (a sample company is shown); the MTN mark stays small on the front and on the back. Staff names and roles come from the company’s team list in the portal, so a bulk order prints itself.

The proverbs
One short Ghanaian proverb sits on each back. These are suggestions; MTN can choose its own, and a customer can pick any of them when ordering.
“No one tests the depth of a river with both feet.” Ashanti proverb · Independence Arch
“It is not wrong to go back for what you forgot.” Sankofa, Akan · Cape Coast Castle
“Wisdom is like a baobab tree; no one person can embrace it.” Akan proverb · Kakum Canopy Walkway
“One head does not hold a council.” Akan proverb · Larabanga Mosque
“Do not let what you cannot do tear from your hands what you can.” Ashanti proverb · Mole National Park
“By coming together, we are made strong.” Akan saying · Kente
Draft for the MTN prequalification response. The MTN mark is used from the files MTN supplied. Illustrations are original drawings by Vaurse. Names, roles, the sample company (Nsoroma Logistics) and the short links are samples. The QR codes are real and open the sample links.
